Incommunicado
On the phone on my new desk is a Post-It note with a telephone number written on it. The previous Network Manager told me that this is the incoming number for my office.
After giving it out to a few people, I discovered today the number has in fact been disconnected. What’s more, the school’s receptionists have no recollection of there ever being a direct line to my office.
I have absolutely no idea what to make of this.

Wouldn’t something like a porn line number work much better for that?
Lol, I would take it as a blessing. It means that when people want to get in touch with you they have to get of their arses and find you!
Your first mistake Mr Angry Technician was not ringing the number on the Post-It from a mobile to make sure it was the right number to begin with, rookie Mistake!

That number has probably never worked. Which is why he has been giving it out for years…
