Diplomatic Immunity
Recently I wrote some code for our Intranet that issues somewhat blunt reminders to teachers who don’t have their attendance registers done on time (or in some cases, at all).
This has historically been a problem for us, and despite marked improvement in the last year since we changed our electronic registration system, I was keen to finally eradicate the problem forever. However, aware that my usual tone does not always meet with universal approval, I consulted senior management as to whether I should word the reminders more… diplomatically.
Their response could best be summarised as: “f*** diplomacy”.
I’m thinking of having the email framed.

Brilliant! – that is the kind of response we all hope for from management!
Frame it? Get it posted on the Intranet for those who might have an issue with the tone.
Am I the only disappointed this didn’t have anything to do with a British actor sporting an African accent who was really annoying Mel Gibson and Danny Glover?

Well this should be enlarged and then encased in an elaborately designed frame then hung in the illustrious halls of the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Senate, above and behind the U.S. Justices chairs in the U.S. Supreme Court room, and finally over the door to the oval office, both sides of the door, incoming and outgoing, to enlighten our politicians as to the desires of the majority of United States Citizens, both born in the USA and Naturalized and especially excluding all illegal immigrant wan-a-be aliens!!!
Please, post it then. I think I am not the only one who might have some use for a template (:
Post it… or loan us your upper management =). Nice work.
