Dear indignant teacher

I’m sorry you feel that we didn’t give you enough notice when we asked you to bring your school laptop in for its annual check-up. As we explained to all staff last month, it’s a lot of work to organise and it’s impossible to create a schedule that pleases everyone.

However, of the minority who did have a problem, everyone else had the decency to reply to our email to rearrange. You chose to ignore it for almost a week. When I mentioned it in passing, your excuses were mediocre at best, and although some of your criticism was valid, it was undermined by the same flawed assumptions you accused us of making.

Hopefully, sometime this week, you will remember that you are a professional, and that simply ignoring your problems does not befit someone of your status. Please feel free to contact my team to reschedule, as I suggested. The sooner you do it, the less likely we will brand you an idiot for the next year.

Love and kisses,
