Dear Graphic Design department

I understand that your computer labs are also your regular teaching rooms. That doesn’t excuse some of the behaviour you let the students get away with in there. They are still rooms full of expensive equipment, and the fact that you let them much around in your computer labs makes them think it’s acceptable in the rest of the labs too.

You should also be aware that if you continue to react with indifference to my complaints of finding (for example) that a computer mouse has been covered with spray glue, I will continue to de-prioritise your problems in favour of people whose problems are not down to neglecting the equipment.

Love and kisses,

P.S. Letting the students use spray glue in the rendering lab despite clear H&S guidance that it should only be used in well ventilated areas is going to get you in a lot of trouble one day when someone has an asthma attack. Just an ‘FYI’ there.

It amazes me how little respect some staff give to IT suites. When you think that a lab of 30 PCs, plus Projector and board, etc is not going to give you a lot of change from £15k you’d think (or at least hope) they’d keep control of the kids……
I watched several kids whizz around an IT room today on ‘wheeled’ chairs with an IT teacher in there who’s also SMT, when said kids then had each other in a headlock and running round the room I had to step in and have a rant at them. I restrained myself from having a rant at the teacher, just………….
