There are often times when the instructions or labels on electronics and computer equipment will make no sense whatsoever.

Today, I found this on the side of an Amstrad DVD player:

Tear Up Useless Qualification - QC Passed

Your guess is as good as mine.

    Ahhh – Engrish at it’s best…

    I think it’s stating that if you tear the sticker the warranty become invalid, but sod knows – I have seen another engrish sign stating quite boldly: “Beware of Safety”.

    The mind boggles.

      In the case of the “Beware of Safety”, we printed it off and it was expertly pinned to the noticeboard of the (somewhat notoriously over-zealous) UNISON Health-and-Safety rep by an IT Ninja who will remain nameless.

      Who said IT staff are dull, boring geeks who don’t have a sense of humour?
